Giuseppe’s expertise is in machine learning and data engineering. At Opsmorph, Giuseppe is building natural language processing (NLP) models to classify and structure unstructured text and fully automated, highly scalable and cost-effective data pipelines in the cloud. In previous roles, Giuseppe has designed strategies for systematic quality assurance of time series data, architected web-crawlers for data ingestion, and developed machine learning models for environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) investments. This included predicting gender pay gap and climate breakdown-driven physical risk of corporations, and insights relating to waste, water, and greenhouse gas consumption of publicly listed companies. In other roles, Giuseppe has developed geo-spatial mapping and NLP algorithms to assist the Ministry of Defence in multiple projects with issues of Human Security, such as the protection of civilians and tackling of human trafficking. In addition to his technical expertise, Giuseppe is experienced in writing tenders with a technology focus, both in the UK and in Europe, and has worked extensively on project and process evaluation.
Giuseppe holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Politics and International Relations (2016), an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics (2018) from the University of Manchester (UK) and was a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Social Statistics at the University of Manchester (2019 – 2022) where he collaborated on risk models of modern slavery.
